New Database

General_New_Database.jpg

Two types of database can be created:

Empty Database - As the name suggests this creates an Empty database so that you can record your plant details.

Sample Database - Creating a sample database is the best way to understand the functionality of the ArboretumDB system. It creates a database of over 2000 plants based on a real arboretum. This provides you with the opportunity to try out the system without first having to type in a lot of test information.

Open Existing Database

If you have already created a database you can use the open database option to select it. This enables you to maintain more then one database and easily switch between them.

Database Settings (Registered)

General_Settings_Registered.jpg

Once you have purchased a copy of the ArboretumDB, you will be given a Registration Key for your Arboretum. Once entered this will enable all functionality to the database.

Additionally you will be able to replace the Report Tag Line which appears on all printed reports.

Database Settings (Unregistered)

Most options are unavailable in the unregistered version of the database. You can however set the system to split the GPS settings into Eastings and Northings when exported from the Plant screen. e.g. "TG 03550 00275" would become "603550" and "300275".
